Nokia 7230 latest Models Reviews

The Nokia 7230 is a Series 40 slider phone aimed at the every day user. It’s not a flash smartphone, instead it’s aimed at the user who simply wants a great call clarity and to send texts and messages using a good-sized keypad. Get the feeling we’re quite impressed with the Nokia 7230? Read on to find out how well it handles with our Nokia 7230 review…

If you’ve read our Nokia 7230 first impressions review then you’ll know we’ve already warmed to this little handset. After all, the Nokia 7230 isn’t trying to be anything other than a value-for-money phone. Sure, it packs in a 3.2-Megapixel camera, delivers a pretty descent turn of speed thanks to the EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 900/1900/2100 connection.

When it comes to battery life, Nokia is quoting up to six hours talk time and over 15 days in stanby but we’ve been using it for the last week and only had to re-charge this device once. Even then there was still a good quarter of juice left to be had from the charge. Considering we’ve used it for every day tasks, as well as checking out the media player and FM Radio that’s some pretty good going.

Sure, the Nokia 7230 isn’t a smartphone and it isn’t trying to be. In many cases, the Nokia 7230 isn’t trying to be anything other than a solid and reliable handset and for that we’re thankful. This is a great little handset ideal for anyone who expects a solid build quality, good every day battery life and, best of all, easy user experience.

However, what has impressed us the most with the Nokia 7230 is how easy it is to use. Weighing in at 100g, it’s a nice and compact device that feels a little chunkier than we were expecting. That said, it slips in and out of the pocket easy enough, so it can’t be that bulky!

Based around a 2.4-inch screen it’s a bright and easy to view screen, even outdoors. Running the S40 operating system you won’t too much on the Homescreen but getting access to your apps is easy. You can use the D-Pad to launch the full array of Nokia tools, press the right-hand button for your Contacts list or the left-hand button for your messaging and multimedia apps.

It’s the D-Pad that controls how you use the Nokia 7230 the most and thankfully it’s a good size and while it has a shallow click action, it responds really well. Open the slider and you’ll find a good-sized numeric keypad. To be fair, at first glance we thought they looked a little small but once you start typing you’ll find, as we did, that simply isn’t the case.
The keys are individually mounted and have a nice solid weight to them as you’re typing out message.

Aside from the 3.2MP camera, which also allow for video capture, you’ll find Bluetooth built-in. A 2GB microSD card is included and pre-installed, which helps make up for the rather poor 50MB of internal memory.

In addition to its design while roundness, this mobile can count on a sliding keyboard successful and relatively large, easy to use and a good autonomy.
